Both parties deliberated on ways to elevate ASEAN-India cooperation in the post pandemic era, including enhancing cooperation in areas of smart agriculture, healthcare, new & renewable energy, digital inclusivity and fintech.

- ASEAN is India's fourth largest trading partner that accounts for 10.6% of India's overall trade.
- ASEAN is at centre of India’s ’Act East policy’ and ’Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI)’.
- India is a member of ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), which focuses on political and security dimensions for ASEAN.
- Key cooperation projects: Mekong Ganga Cooperation, India-Myanmar-Thailand Trilateral highways, Kaladan multimodal project.
- India conducts Various bilateral military exercises with ASEAN members: CORPATs with Indonesia and Thailand, Samudra Shakti with Indonesia, and SIMBEX with Singapore.

2022 marks 30 years of ASEAN-India relations
and it has been designated as ASEAN-India Friendship Year.
